About Us
Deepam Trust
Since children in rural areas were deprived of education women were not given social justice and were not economically independent. Hence the NGO was started.
Deepam Trust was founded in 2010 in Salmedu, Villupuram, Tamilnadu. The NGO works in and around Villupuram by providing Educational facilities like stationery and books to poor children. By organizing child rights legal awareness and in the sector of Women empowerment, it has provided free tailoring training to women, turmeric manufacturing, Beauty parlor courses, legal awareness and also training in manufacturing utensils using areca nut leaves. Also, small income generation activities training in gardening are provided by the NGO. It has also helped the youth by giving training in bookkeeping, giving modern technical assistance in Agriculture, and so on.

By providing income-generating activities to women, To give health and hygiene training, and seeing that children get nutritious food and youth are more independent and economically strong.
Our Programs
Manufacturing Utensils using Arecanut Leaves
Women were given training in producing utensils using for cooking using arecanut leaves which are cost effective and environment friendly. About 200 women were trained and were also taught the marketing tips.
Turmeric Manufacturing
SHG Groups were trained to produce turmeric which is used for religious rituals and cooking. About 250 women learnt the manufacturing of turmeric.

Beauty Parlour Training
Beauty parlour training was conducted as income generation program for SHG Women for about 50 women were benefited from the program.

International Women's Day
International women's day was celebrated wherein SHG groups participated in large numbers. Cultural programs like singing and debate programs were organised about 350 women attended the program .

Corona Awareness
Corona awareness was given to the rural people during covid pandemic. Masks and sanitizers were distributed.
