About Us

Kamarajar Trust

Since there was illiteracy and poverty prevailed in the rural areas of Thirvanamalai, the NGO was started.

Kamarajar Trust was founded in 2019, The main focus areas of the NGO were education, eradication of poverty, health, and hygiene, skill development for youth, and upgradation of technology for farmers.  During COVID-19 times the NGO supplied food kits and also honored the civil servants of the state.  SHG was formed for women's empowerment. Skill development programs were conducted for youth to upgrade their skills and lead their life independently. Small Income generation programs for women were organized for the women to live independent and economically strong lives. Several workshops were conducted for farmers to educate farmers about the modern techniques for farming and knowledge about farming crop choosing workshops were conducted.

Our focus areas

An integrated approach to build a equitable and empowered society

Mission & Vision

OUR VISION

Society that is free of illiteracy and environment that is clean and citizens aware of health and hygiene.

OUR MISSION

To provide free education without any prejudice, and bring awareness for HIV/AIDS, and other social ailments. Bring awareness about climatic changes, to tap the talents in the youth, and bring them to the mainstream of the society

Our Programs

Covid-19 Initiative

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Our NGO stood up to the call of society by providing food kits to the poor and needy like farmers, corporation workers, and other officials. About 500 food kits were distributed.

Women Empowerment

Based on the assumptions that women differ from men in their social positions and that those differences consist of asymmetric, unequal power relations between the genders, “women’s empowerment” refers to the process of increasing women’s access to control over the strategic life choices that affect them and access to the opportunities that allow them fully to realize their capacities.

Women’s empowerment as an economic, political, and socio-cultural process challenges the system of sexual stratification that has resulted in women’s subordination and marginalization in order to improve women’s quality of life. We work towards the formation of SHGs, Skill development programs for poor women in and around Gengampattu Village.

Education

Education is of great significance in one’s life. The Right to Education Act which lets every child go to school and get a proper education has contributed towards the upliftment of underprivileged children. It has given them an opportunity to get the kind of education that other children in the city get access to.

We have been successful in providing pens for more than 700 students in 10 government schools across Tamil Nadu during the academic year 2021-22.
