Started in 2007, the NGO has been serving the society through Health and education, environment and sanitation with 2457 Beneficiaries in the district of Sivagangai of Tamil Nadu.
About Us
Viveka Arackattalai
Since there was poverty and illiteracy in the rural parts of Sivakottai district, the NGO had to intervene and serve the
underprivileged.
VIVEKA was founded by Ms. Jayarani, a Social Worker along with 6 other likeminded persons (refer the governing board)
with the mission to empower the women, youth, poor farmers, adolescent girls and marginalized communities through
education and skill training programmes. All the members are from deprived community listed under lowest social strata.
Initially they started giving health awareness programmes, life skill trainings and rural livelihood oriented trainings for the
women and adolescent girls. Though the organization was started working since 2006, it was registered under Trust Act
during the year 2007. During 2009 the trust started 3 educational courses on Paramedical, computer education and
catering in order to promote the younger generations with competent skills and sustained life standards.

Our Programs
Women Empowerment Programs
Women were given legal awareness and Health awareness in the rural parts. Many women participated in the program. SHG groups were given training in Income generation activities like cattle rearing, gardening, book keeping etc.
Animal Birth Control Program
Animal birth control program was done with the support of local municipality and 606 dogs in Devekottai, Municipaltiy and 1571 dogs in Karaikudi Ramanathapura Municipality was benefited. Rameswaram conducted animal surveys in 6 municipal locations.
