An integrated approach to build a equitable and empowered society

Mission & Vision

OUR VISION

Touching lives through Empowerment for better tomorrow.

OUR MISSION

To work with communities, increasing gender parity and inequality through empowering lives.

Our Programs

Women Empowerment

We transform shy, uneducated women into empowered individuals through training and development programs. Women have been denied the opportunities and the recognition they deserve. It has taken innumerable efforts by several people, remembered and forgotten, to bring women to where they have reached today.
We believe that, with the right thrust, this power within her can be unleashed for the betterment of the society. This is what brings us to our work with women in the poorest, most backward communities in India, especially those who have faced economic, social, and cultural exploitation.

Self-Help Groups

We believe that when women come together, life-changing impacts can be effected in their families and communities. Bringing women together through Self-Help groups, Carmel uses this tried and tested method to bring about collective development among the women we work with. These women are trained, provided health and raining is given to these groups, and income-generation activities are undertaken.

Vocational Training

Through vocational training centers located in different parts of Bidar, we train women in tailoring, computer skills, bag making, soft toy manufacturing, etc.

World Day of the Poor

One of the better ways to help the poor and needy people is to give them a 'hand up' rather than a 'hand out'. Giving them moral support and showing respect make them aware that someone really does care about them. On the occasion of the 'World Day of the Poor' the Carmel Niketan sisters concentrated on three groups namely widows, Rehabilitated leprosy patients and CMC sweepers. Our staff conducted a prayer service, listened to their hardships of life, and played a video highlighting how poverty can lead the poor to be rich in heart. Thereafter we entertained the groups with games and gave food packets and gift sarees, and beds to the elder. It was a moment of expression of love to the poor.
