About Us
Tamil Nadu Depressed Women Welfare Society
Since there was gender inequality, absence of health awareness and literacy, the NGO started with a cause to serve these sectors.
Tamil Nadu Depressed Women Welfare Society (TNDWWS) is a non-profit organization established in the year 1991. The organization operates in the areas of Trichy and Ariyalur districts of Tamil Nadu. We work for the empowerment of women and the enforcement of human rights.
Our objectives include :
- To protect and promote child rights
- To protect of rights of depressed women and the weaker sections of society.
- To address the issues of women, against the atrocities on women and violation of human rights.
- To protect the environment, land, and water and promote natural resource management
- To undertake women’s education including vocational training programs and community health programs.
- To create awareness of HIV / AIDS among the High-Risk Groups in the Thiruverambur block of the Tiruchirapalli district.
- To engage in rehabilitation work directly or through other agencies or organizations
- To provide rehabilitation, treatment, counseling, and care centers for the victims of tsunami devastation.
- To Network with a like-minded organization working for the same cause.

To provide education, awareness generation through sensitization programs and capacitate the target people through time tested and result oriented training and involve them in the community development
Our Programs
Activity for Disabled children
Care for disabled children is one of the major program in the NGO. They are taught is simple ways through songs and skits. So that they will learn easily. Children respond to such teachings easily so that they would come to the main stream of the society.
Health Camps
Health camps are conducted periodically for rural people of Trichy wherein the medicines are distributed freely.
SHG Meetings
SHG Meetings are held periodically and guidance will be given by resource people regarding the SHG activities. SHG Groups are formed among 1850 women in SHG sector.
Covid Initiative
During Covid 19, Food kits were distributed to the helpless and needy. About 200 kits were supplied.

Single Women Conference
The Single Women Conference was held in Chennai on 08 March 2023. The one-day conference was facilitated by our NGO and turned out to be a successful and inspiring event for all participants.07-Mar-2023
Capacity Building Of Dalit Women
Dalit women are facing triple discrimination due to their caste, class, and gender status. Empowering Dalit women is at the heart of our work. We conducted regular capacity-building and training programs for Dalit women human rights activists on human rights intervention strategies, leadership, and law at Puducherry. We follow their progress and provide support for their independent work in this field.03-Mar-2023
Livelihood Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities
Promoting Rural Livelihoods Mission (RLM) for persons with disabilities has been organized by our NGO to create platforms enabling disabled people to increase their household income through sustainable livelihood enhancements and improved access to financial services at Arasangudi, Village, Thiruverambur Block, Tamil Nadu.03-Feb-2023
Setting Up Nutri Garden & Herbal Garden
We setting up the herbal garden is to improve resource divergence by identifying the commonly available herbs and utilizing them for the economic benefit of the community. The kitchen gardens are set up to integrate solid and liquid waste management. The solid waste generated within the campus is converted into manure and is used for the plants. Both kitchen gardens and herbal gardens are a way to effectively manage the available resources in society and utilize it for the development of the community.Our Impact
